The Message of Maps

Reading response editor Yvette Moore’s interview with Ward L. Kaiser, author of How Maps Change Things, made me think of an episode of The West Wing in which the White House Press Secretary C.J. Cregg met with members of the fictional Organization of Cartographers for Social Equality and listened to their arguments for why the Peter’s Projection Map should be used in school geography courses as opposed to the Mercator Map.
